In a marriage, the bride and the groom are the center of attraction and all the guests present eagerly wait for the bridegroom’s wedding speech to be delivered during the reception. Though the father of the bride’s wedding speech has customarily been the most appreciated because of the emotional factor, there have been circumstances where the groom’s speech has stolen the thunder. This is possible only when the speech has been prepared in advance and the groom has practiced well before delivery. Many groom’s face difficulty in writing their wedding speeches, but if you adhere to the following steps, your task will become easier and you will be able to prepare a good speech.
Your doing should reflect honestly in the speech. Start your wedding speech by welcoming and thanking all the guests for taking the difficulty to attend the wedding. Thank the guests profusely.
Next, thank your parents and the bride’s parents for all they have made for you and your bride. Talk great about the arrangements. In the procedure, do not make the wedding speech recitative and enliven it with a bit of nostalgia, jokes, quotes, etc. This will make your speech attractive.
After all have been thanked, occupy your bride in the speech. Mention how fortunate you are to have her as your bride and life partner. Share some anecdotes highlighting her qualities that make her exceptional. It is an emotional moment. Do not hold back your emotions. A sentimental speech is loaded with emotions of real life. All, especially your bride and her immediate family members, will love this.
Towards the end of your wedding speech, you need to mention a few words about the maid of honor and the best man. First, speak about the maid of honor, because you have just finished talking about your bride. Then narrate about your best man interspersed with some funny episodes to make the speech zingy. Lastly, inform the guests, why you have chosen him as your best man.
People think the grooms speech should be in poetical language. Nevertheless, a true groom’s speech is the one that flows from the heart and delivered perfectly. To make your groom’s speech more appealing and enthralling, mention the amusing, emotional and touching episodes that happened during the planning of your wedding. Express your opinion on ideas of love, loyalty, family, fidelity and commitment; and why they are significant for a marriage to succeed. Persons who have helped you during the course should be mentioned.
Write down your speech before the D-day and practice it thoroughly. Remember ‘practice makes a man perfect’, and more practice will give you more confidence while delivering your groom’s speech. Keep it precise but express all you want to say. Lengthy speech will bore the guests. conclude your speech by raising a toast to the parents of the bride, your parents and the guests.
